WELCOME TO BALLAN PRIMARY SCHOOL
At Ballan Primary School we aim to provide a safe, secure and welcoming environment to every child, parent and staff member. Whether you already have children at our school, are a new parent with your oldest child commencing school or a new family to the district, I extend a warm welcome to you and look forward to our partnership in your child’s education over the next few years.
We have a very dedicated and experienced teaching team who implement the state’s Curriculum and Standards Framework (CSF) which covers the eight Key Learning Areas (KLAs) of English, Mathematics, Science, Technology, Studies of Society and Environment, Health and Physical Education, The Arts and Language Other Than English (LOTE). Our LOTE is Italian. When developing programs our teachers take into account the individual needs of students and the particular strengths they have. We also have a number of activities over the year which enhance the curriculum such as camps, excursions and special days to celebrate and share with others the learning that has taken place. We encourage and work towards our students becoming independent learners and to take risks in acquiring skills and knowledge.

At Ballan Primary School we enjoy parents participating in our school. We value your assistance and support within the classrooms. However, for a school to function successfully we have parents assist in grounds development, School Council, Parents and Friends Group (PFG), Canteen and importantly supporting all your child’s efforts at school and at home. We believe that parents and teachers working in partnership has a positive affect on students’ attitudes towards their learning.
We have computers in all classrooms including the Art Room and Library. Learning Technologies is our current School Charter priority and we aim to use computers to enhance learning across the curriculum.
Other facilities include a Art Room, Library and Canteen. We also have a gymnasium which ensures Physical Education and Sport can be conducted throughout the year. Over the next couple of years our grounds will continue to be developed to incorporate shade, passive areas and appropriate play equipment to suit the changing physical needs of students across the school.
